Induflex's history

Induflex was founded by Lis Larsen in the town Øster Hornum in 1989. At that time, it consisted of four employees, and it specialised in the sawing, CNC milling and turning of plastic. Since then, things have moved fast. We have multiplied our workforce ten times over, have grown out of our premises and, keeping pace with our customers' needs, have expanded our machine park and competencies numerous times.

At the end of 1996, Induflex took its first big step towards expansion, when the company purchased an industrial building of 1050 m2 in Støvring. By this time, the company had grown to five employees. Shortly after they moved, the company invested in a new CNC turning and rotation centre.

In the autumn of 1998, Induflex was the first company in Denmark to begin laser cutting plastic. Not long after, the company invested further in a not only a new CNC turning and rotation centre, but also other equipment including, among other things, new sawing equipment, a CNC lathe, a thickness planer, a diamond polishing machine, a bending machine and UV glue equipment.

In the spring of 2001, Induflex bought an additional laser cutter, and the company acquired its third laser cutter that autumn. By this time, the number of staff had risen to 15, and the company, with the addition of a new extension of 350 m2 to the building, now had a production area of 1400 m2 with the newest production equipment in the industry.

As sales grew, Induflex found itself short of space once more. In August 2006, the company therefore held a groundbreaking ceremony to begin work on yet another extension to the building, and at the end of December, one more hall and an additional 468 m2 were ready.

2006 was also the year in which Induflex won its first Gazelle Award, a Danish award given annually to the fastest growing companies in Denmark, followed by its second in 2008.

In the summer of 2010, Lis Larsen´s son, Rico Larsen, now the current owner and director, bought into the company.

In the autumn of 2012, the company acquired its new premises, the 4500 m2 property on Hagensvej 25 in the city Støvring.

During the course of 2014 and 2015, the company expanded its machine park with six brand-new machines, including equipment for water jet cutting, which signalled the beginning of a whole new method of production for Induflex.

In 2016, the company expanded its machine park again to boost the production of visual products. Among other things, it invested in a digital printer and a vinyl cutter.

As the first comprehensive stage in the process optimisation of the production, Induflex bought a brand-new automated plate storage system in the autumn of 2017. In December of the same year, the number of company employees now stood at 30.

In 2018, Induflex won its third Gazelle Award.

On 1 May 2019, the employees and owner celebrated Induflex’s 30th anniversary with a big celebration with over 150 guests at the factory on Hagensvej.

On 1 January 2020, Rico Larsen took over 100% ownership of Induflex and, in the spring of 2020, Induflex’s first professional board of directors was set up.

Today, we have almost 50 employees.
