Polishing of

Plastic Parts

We polish plastic materials, particularly those with a matte finish resulting from machining processes such as sawing, milling, and turning on various plastic types.

If you desire a glossy surface on your products, we can polish them to achieve a clear and shiny finish.

We use different methods for polishing, depending on the geometry of the part:

  • Diamond Edge Polishing: Suitable for straight edges of plates.
  • Flame Polishing: Used for small, hard-to-reach surfaces.
  • Manual Polishing: Employed for larger and easily accessible surfaces.

Adhesive bonding of plastic parts

Adhesive bonding of plastic is a manual process that requires great precision. This method allows for consistent, durable, and aesthetically pleasing joints that are almost invisible.

In most constructions, plastics are bonded together using the same type of plastic. Bonding different types of plastics is only feasible if the two materials are chemically compatible.

Bonding plastic to metal can also be challenging, but not impossible. It’s essential to consider the significant difference in thermal expansion between the materials. For instance, the expansion coefficient of acrylic is five times higher than that of steel. An example of this is when magnets are bonded into plastic parts.
